Dayum, can anybody PITCH in this game?

This is why either NL team is going to very likely beat either one of these AL teams in the Series, they both have superior pitching, and managers for that matter. Doesn't matter that the AL has HFA.

It's like they always say: Great pitching beats great hitting. Except when it doesn't.

Right, @SlinkyRedfoot ?

Sometimes the great hitters win, but the playoffs are a distillation of this. The hitters pile up stats all year on bad teams and 4th and 5th starters and shitty bullpens. Then the playoffs come and you wonder why don't the hitting teams hit like they did all year? Not complicated. You almost never see a team slug their way to a title, and if you do it's because they lucked into facing other slugging teams.

Uhhhh????

Hammel and Henrricks would get murdered by the Jays lineup and Lester is a lefty. Also their BP vs the Jays? The ball flys at wrigley?

Cubs homer lineup at Kaufmann? The royals pen? The royals deep balanced lineup va two blah starters?

Cubs would definitely not be the favorites. Mets rotation always gives them a chance but they'd really have to clamp down on the power bats and depth of the lineup.

It's still short sample size baseball so anything can happen. But the Giants were underdogs in every single series all 3 championship years....just sayin'

They won all three with historically good pitching in 2010, very good pitching in 2012, and a one man legendary pitcher in 2014.

I know anything can happen but you called the NL teams to beat because of their pitching. I don't see the Cubs being in any better situation pitching wise.

Mets on other hand...yes. But will they hit?

When you pitch that good, you don't have to hit much. And yes KC's pen is awesome, hence their likely beating Toronto

We'll see of course, but that's my gut feeling
