But you are comparing Washington's shining star, primo out of conference game to Alabama's throw away game. Again, not comparing apples to apples.

I was referring to the argument that playing FBS teams is no different than playing a Rutgers whos been crappy. I wasn't comparing specific schedules. Whens the last time Mercer or Presbyterian or Towsend beat anyone of note?
Washington plays Auburn(props) and Michigan ( two seasons later) in home and homes starting next season btw.

But you also have teams like North Dakota State that is on a six game win streak against FBS teams, five of which are P5.

ALL FBS should stop playing FCS teams. The level of talent between FBS & FCS teams is not even close. Those games are nothing more than glorified scrimmages for FBS programs.
Agreed, but its not so much the FCS teams as it is dodging your own conference members.

Now this is comedy gold from the start.

"It's not a matter of being proud, it's a matter of understanding why."
"We play that game @ that time because we play Auburn the week after"

I only read to the end of the 2nd sentence because I couldn't stop laughing. Bama OWNS Auburn right now. The Tide are 7-2 in the last 9. Other than '10 & '13 here are the scores.

'08: Bama 36-0
'09: Bama 26-21
'11: Bama 42-14
'12: Bama 49-0
'14: Bama 55-44
'15: Bama 29-13
'16: Bama 30-12

Can you imagine how much shit Urban Meyer would get if he played an FCS team the week before the meeeechegan game?

And the 2 years we lost to Auburn, they went to the National Championship game.

Best thing I like about Saban is he doesn't give a fuck how much people complain.

Unlike you, Saban is in favor of a 9 game conference schedule. He was the only SEC coach that voted in favor of playing his fellow conference members.

Not just that, he is on record as saying P5 conferences should only play against P5 schools, but more of a power 5 breakaway with its own championship. He was in favor of this in the past, not sure about now.

He doesnt mind losing if its a good game. He uses losses as bulletin board fodder for next game, and next season. He hates kids not buying into his system, shows them what happens when they dont buy harping on the loss, showing them where they could have been better. He is a hard ass for sure.

Yes I know. My opinion isn't really based only on Alabama, it's just who everyone cries about. My opinion doesn't change from team to team or based on what Saban says/wants.

Who's complaining? All I did was point out a fact. It's you overly defending that Bama needs to play a cupcake the week before they play Auburn. And so what the Tigers went to the title games those 2 years. 6 of the 7 games I mentioned were all decided by @ least 16 points. You either don't understand or refuse to acknowledge that your Tide has been the much better team recently. Yet you still defend them playing an FCS before they play their biggest rival. I mean your homerism on this 1 topic is reaching trustmeimwrong status.

Fuck Auburn, I don't care how much we've beat them by. Does not factor into it.

Well if you never schedule these teams( and play home and homes) you can bet you wont catch them the season they are decent or actually good. If you only schedule Mercer , Towsend, South Carolina, Presbyterian and Chattanooga you have eliminated any doubt that the game will ever be competitive.

I'm pretty sure we've done a lot better scheduling neutral site games a few years in advance in terms of competitive opponents than anybody scheduling home and homes 6 or 7 years down the road.

I'm also pretty sure USC had a good idea when they scheduled Idaho, Arkansas State and Utah St twice that they knew exactly what they were getting.
