TAMPA — The Rays announced Wednesday that they are in “exclusive discussions” with a group led by Jacksonville developer Patrick Zalupski “concerning a possible sale of the team.”

Per the Rays, the group also includes “prominent Tampa Bay investors” who were not named, as well as businessmen Bill Cosgrove, CEO of Union Home Mortgage, and Ken Babby, who owns two minor-league teams.

The team is expected to remain in the Tampa Bay area if the deal is completed, though it is not known where a stadium would be built.

You guys catch Cole in the booth last night? Beyond how weird it is that he sounds like Kermit the frog, I thought it was interesting that he gave Boone props for how he treats the players, but didn't give him any credit for his baseball decisions.

He seems very awkward in any type of interview he does……the Kermit voice just makes it funnier

That should have been an error on Duran there. It was on his glove.

Cost the Red Sox a run

Trevor Story looked foolish first pitch then line drive homer. Nice!

O’s hit 3 homers in the second inning, lead Rays 8-0.

Cowser, Mullins, Laureano.

Inching towards relevance…

Spoke too soon.

O’s awful pitching staff gave up 8 unanswered.

Tie ballgame in the fifth.

The AL is rough this year---- and honestly I dont even think the Tigers are that great - Skubal is of course an animal but in a 7 game series they are far from a juggernaut. AL is wide open this year.

The Betts trade also included David Price and his $100m remaining contract. Red Sox were strapped by Dave Dombrowski. They knew they wouldn't be able to afford Mookie, so at least they got something back along with dumping salary....

The Sale trade in retrospect was bad, but at the time he was always injured and getting $29m.

The Devers trade was about getting rid of a disgruntled employee and his $31m.

You should also add Bogaerts to the list since they just let him walk without getting anything in return. They knew wouldn't pay him...
