Can't help but feel like the Yanks are trying to instill false hope with Trevor Story by letting him hit. Devious bastards

ESPN has horrendous commentators. They kept calling Robert Stock a rookie after Judge homered off him.

ESPN logic: "If we haven't heard of them, they must be a rookie"

Can't wait for this garbo network to lose their MLB broadcasting rights. And while I appreciate them having a hand in Chisholm's error while interviewing him, it's fucking ridiculous that MLB even lets them interview players on the field. At least talk to someone on the bench or something

Well, that sucked.

Completely agree on ESPN. We're a long ways from Jon Miller and Joe Morgan. The telecasts get worse as the years go by.

It sounds like MLB may come back to them

Unfortunately Anthony had his first blunder on that misplaced ball in right field. as frustrating as Bello can be, he's looked pretty good tonight. Only 70 pitches and no walks thru 6

Just feels like another one of those games where you get blooped by the Rays, but all your hard hit balls find their gloves. Fucking hate playing these guys

Encouraging news, but honestly is a "healthy" Stanton a better hitter than Rice? Rice is hitting .241/.327/.497 with a 129 OPS+ (a number Stanton hasn't approached since 2021), though his Statcast data actually suggests he should be hitting much better than that. His xSLG is much higher at .574 and he has a xwOBA of .411. He doesn't strike out that much for a slugger and he has a respectable whiff rate. I guess I'd use Stanton as a platoon partner for Rice, but Rice should be getting the majority of the at bats if you ask me.

Yea they are going to have some tough tough decisions to make. I been they can always put Rice at catcher and go from there. Wells isn’t anything special this year

Honestly I had no idea Rice even caught.

But yeah, I feel like the Yanks might have something in Rice and I feel like the Yanks should be playing him almost every day. There's quite a bit to like about his Statcast profile:
