Franklin Arias hitting .372/.408/.531 with only 9 strikeouts in 120 PA in A+ ball. He's only 19. Keith Law has him in the top 10 in his latest top prospect list. Anthony's #1. The Password also comes in at #46. Not too shabby considering it no longer includes Campbell and Mayer.

This might be the weirdest July ever... Will Boston be buyers or sellers?

Or both?

As frustrating as this team is, they're only a few out of a Wild Card. I feel like there's a pretty big gap between the Tigers/Yanks and the rest of the AL right now, and you figure the Sox one-run games will take a turn for the better... right? It probably wouldn't be the worst idea to acquire a SP that can actually go ~6 IP per start though.

Kinda what I'm thinking. The one run games will eventually even out. And, the division is certainly not out of reach. But they do need to go on some winning streaks.

They have a ton of offensive players, they just can't string them together in the right order - How many clean-up hitters have they tried already? And, they need to stop striking out...

They definitely need to acquire an innings eater (or two). Hopefully they have given up on reclamation projects (Giolito, Hendrix, Sandoval, etc...)

And, they have plenty to trade. I think they can get rid of some dead weight (uh, Yoshida) if they include some of these great young kids. Buying and selling at the same time?....

Did you guys find it funny how Hill handled Freddie? You know the same matchup Boone should have went to last year instead of a rusty Nestor

Sunday night baseball had its highest ratings in 7 years, in ESPN's final year broadcasting baseball.

Haven't heard much on whether they're still going to have it next year on a different network

Boston season is a long way from over even if they get swept. They will have 94 games left after the series this weekend

Whole lot of activity pre-game:

Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees made the following roster moves:
• Returned INF Jazz Chisholm Jr. (#13) from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list.
• Reinstated RHP Fernando Cruz (#63) from the 15-day injured list.
• Recalled RHP Yerry de los Santos (#73) from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
• Placed RHP Luke Weaver on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to 6/1) with a left hamstring strain.
• Optioned INF Jorbit Vivas to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
• Designated RHP Carlos Carrasco for assignment.

I thought they DFA'ed Carrasco like a month ago :noidea:

Yeah, there's 6 playoff spots and a whole lot of middling teams. Nobody's gonna be out of it in June. OK, maybe the ChiSox lol

The Red Sox have been waiting for a spark that leads to a winning streak... They have looked lost all year...

If they beat the Yanks, it could lead to a huge boost in team morale. If they get beat, they would be crushed....

Bello might be the most annoying Sox pitcher to watch since Buchholz and Dice-BB
