Red Sox are having their own injury issues:

-Devers hasn’t played at all yet and those shoulders are a concern.
-Bello hasn’t pitched yet and almost certainly won’t be ready for the start of the season.
-Giolito hasn’t pitched yet.
-Wilyer Abreu hasn’t appeared in a game yet.
-Casas(always a question mark) hasn’t been seen in a while.
-Yoshida won’t be ready for the start of the season.
-Kutter Crawford hasn’t even ramped up yet.

Lots of holes in that roster at the moment.
Updating this list with less than 2 weeks to go until opening day:

-Devers STILL hasn’t appeared in a game, but says he’s fine and will be ready for opening day. He’ll be the full-time DH it seems.
-Bello will start the season on the DL
-Giolito pitched 1 inning and hurt his hamstring and HE will start the season on the DL
-Wilyer Abreu has not played at all yet and he, too, will start the season on the DL
-Casas seems healthy, despite not playing much this Spring.
-Yoshida has played some this Spring, but his shoulder is not ready for outfield duty yet. With Devers slated to be DH, there is no room for Yoshida, as a result. He’ll start the season on the DL.
-Kutter Crawford apparently is not close to anything resembling a game yet. Even though he isn’t very good, he’s been a reliable innings-eater in the past.
-Trevor Story’s back is bothering him(shocker). He says it’s not a big deal, but we’ll see.

This was shocking to me a while back, but I figured he could find a 1 year/$10m deal somewhere to try and prove himself. I bet he got some bad advice and held out thinking he could get more(money or years). Then it sounds like his market might have shrunk to $4-6m on a 1-year deal and he didn’t even sign for that.

He’s been a declining/shitty player for a few years now, though. The fact that he couldn’t turn it around in that ballpark with that cast around him last year really speaks volumes.

He was beyond worthless and the end of the season last year…..made a few good plays in the OF, but his value is circling the bowl…..

Wish him well, but he's a 4th OF and a starter on mediocre teams. Sox have no need for him right now, he'd just be taking away at bats from the likes of Anthony/Campbell/Rafaela.
