Hopefully my OOTP24 sim verifies... the Sox win the AL East at 94-68:harbaugh:

(The Twins knocked the Sox out in the ALCS and came back from 3-1 against the Braves to win the World Series. Paxton's season ended after like 2 games and the Yankees lost to the Astros in the postseason, sounds pretty realistic to me.)

Was just reading that if Volpe finishes top 3 in the ROY voting, the Yankees will be awarded an additional draft pick.

When did that start?

:noidea:

Last year. I think teams only get rewarded for adding them to the Opening Day roster and giving them a full year of service time.

Great idea, IMO.

AL East should have at least 3 strong contenders-Volpe, Yoshida, and Henderson

I think they changed the rule 2 ways, the first you mentioned and that if you do keep a player in the minors until May to avoid losing the year of service the player can still be credited for the year if they perform well. Can't quite find the exact wording

Grayson Rodriguez and maybe Casas, too. Lots of good young talent emerging.

As for the draft pick rule, I think the player also gets credit for a full year of service if they finish in the top 3. The incentive was to keep teams from monkeying with service time by keeping a guy down for the first few weeks by getting them a full year anyway.
