And if the Yanks don't get swept, they'll leave Oakland at least 4 games up in the all important loss column with basically 3 weeks of baseball left.

I agree. Yankees still in the drivers seat.

Be interesting to see if the Yanks can get the win back tonight after losing yesterday. Still their wild card lead may be to much to overcome no matter what happens this week.

Red Sox own the Braves. Haven't had a losing record against them since 2004.

Bases loaded with outs and yanks were only able to push 1 run across.

Fuck this team

It’s ridiculous to say that any game is a “must win” in early September but that was a big win for the Yankees.

Huge. Would be nice if they could score before the 7th inning one of these nights, but I will certainly take it.

Happ and Voit are looking like some very good deadline pick-ups. Whodathunk? Not me, that's for damn sure.

Looks like Cora is conceding this game. B team lineup.

This is relatively difficult to do: Throw a complete inning with only 12 pitches while giving up 4 hits and 2 runs.

Braves were swinging at the first pitch a lot I assume?

That and the good ole double play by Lucas Duda. Bet Cora had to debate whether to let Hector bat there. If he continues to get lit up it's going to be long afternoon.

Oy. Velazquez settles down but has to be taken out after 57 pitches. Just so Pomeranz can end the game and STILL burn the bullpen because he literally can't make it through an inning.

Wow. What a game. Shit - I thought the Sox were just going to roll over and enjoy the off day.

They won that game? Holy shit.

Maybe it just is their year. I fervently hope not, but damn.

6 runs in the 8th to tie it. Lose the lead in the bottom of the 8th but then hit a 2 run homer in the top of the 9th for the lead and eventual win. Crazy.
