Well thank god the Sox won't be winning a WS, that's a nice consolation at least

Tell me how it ended up......It's time for this day in AL East history:
8/29/78- Yankees 7.5 GB

Don't forget that the Yankees erased that lead very quickly and even were up 3.5 games on the Sox in mid September. They then choked their own lead away to force the one game playoff. So there.
Absolutely true. 10+ game shift in the standings in less than 30 games. That's nuts.
Going into the last day of the season, the Yanks had a 1 game lead and got smoked at home by the woeful Cleveland Indians, Sox won their 8th in a row, shutting out Toronto to force game #163.
You might have heard-the Sox had a 2-0 lead in that one in the 7th inning.
All that stupid talk about how many wins the bosox would beat the present single season record by is really ticking me off in hindsight....
Umm...the Stros bullpen was shit in the last WS....Well thank god the Sox won't be winning a WS, that's a nice consolation at least

Not like there's any HISTORY there, right??Eh. I'd still rather be 6.5 up than 6.5 down, but I have to admit, it is kinda fun stirring up the PTSD in you guys.
