It was more the way the Rays beat them. Twice they scored double digits, 9 runs tonight. Rays held the sox to FIVE f-n runs during this four game sweep.
Sox wins 1-0, 2-1, 3-2, 3-2... Sox just didn't match up well.
I get a win is a win butd the Sox went 11-9 against the lowly Rays, I consider that having it taken to them. If that was Cleveland or another quality team I wouldn't have an issue. But damn it was the Rays.

Most importantly is the loss column. Right now we're 5 back in the loss column. Pickup a game or 2 this week and it is at 3 or 4 heading into a really tough week for both teams in the first week of September.

Agree but they have a 6 game road trip in middle of September in the Bronx and Cleveland. If the division is somewhat close entering that trip then shit can get real interesting.

The Yankees goal at this point IMO is to be within striking distance of Boston by the time they head to the bronx in September.
