Girardi went by the book, or binder, in just about every situation. Used to piss me off sometimes, but it's looking pretty damn good in hindsight this morning.

Boone makes Girardi look like a seat of the pants/Billy Martin type. When it came to the pen Girardi didn't always go by the book, he was adamant everyone in the pen needed to give him innings and picked his spots. He has a real talent for it and kept everyone fresh. Last year when Chapman and Betances were tanking he used Robertson for multiple innings which Robertson had never done before and it paid off in quite a few games.

My problem with him was letting Lynn stay in long enough to blow that lead, not much of a problem with Adams, Boone knows this team being down 5-3 is like most teams being down 18-3, that game was already over

Doesn't matter what it feels like lol. All I know is when you look at the standings, there is only one team ahead of them. Sevy needs to pitch better and the yankees need to get healthy. If those 2 things happen and they survive that 1 game playoffs trash then I will feel pretty good heading into the real playoffs.
