Yanks split the last series against the Indians.

So that makes them 5-2 against them. Considering the Yanks can't handle the juggernauts that are Baltimore and Tampa I'll take that

Source says Yankees are "heavy in the mix" for Happ, though no deal is done. Brewers - who lost Brent Suter to a torn UCL - could still be in play among others. Sounds like Blue Jays could be assessing offers, though it remains to be seen if those offers are final or not.

Meh

It's in Philly, but yeah pretty much the same forecast. The good thing is that it looks like the heaviest rain could be confined to just north/northeast of Philly. Still not optimistic.

Sure enough, it stayed dry and got the game in. CBP is an awesome ballpark if you guys haven't been there.

With the way Betts plays at Camden Yards, I'm surprised the O's haven't offered their entire roster for him. He'd win more games by himself than they would. Hell, I don't think he'd pitch any worse.

Crazy how all the SP targets are either blowing up (Hamels, Happ) or getting hurt (Fulmer, Snell, Carlos Martinez)

Pretty slim pickings for a team in desperate need of rotation help.

Sigh.

Hamels could benefit greatly from a change of scenery. He has a 6.41 ERA at home vs 2.93 on the road. 16 of his 23 home runs allowed were in Arlington. Probably not a good fit for YS3 though.

You're prob right but a left hander has a better chance of success in the Bronx than a RH pitcher

Yankees are 5.5 games behind Red Sox, and it's entirely because of the teams' records in inter-divisional play - specifically against TBR, TOR and BAL.

BOS vs AL East - 33-14
NYY vs AL East - 25-19

That's a 6.5 game difference.

NYY leads the season series vs BOS 5-4.

Yup been saying it all along. To Bostons credit, they pound the living shit out of the Shit that should be pounded, while the Yankees struggle with a team literally 40 games behind them in the standings

If I'm being optimistic, maybe their success against the playoff teams pays off in October

Out of the grab bag of shit bags, I'll take Happ over Hamels
I don't like the crop of available starters this year. I think the best trade deadline strategy is to keep improving the hulloen and plan on going into each playoff series with your best four starters and 8 or 9 guys in the BP

Red Sox robbed by cancellation. Orioles should be forced to resume that game. If it were the Yankees they'd just be given the win outright.

Never should have started the game with the forecast they had.

Glad they did, however.
