Another disappointing performance with it all in front of them.

Scratching my head over why a guy who's played the majority of his minor league career in CF is in LF. A guy who's played the vast majority of his career in LF is in RF. Judge can play an adequate CF, but he's really a RF. It doesn't make a ton of sense.

Not making excuses for Dominguez, he looks lost over there, but this is where coaching and having a clue is big. Maybe don't set him up to fail?

:noidea:

Judge now slugging over .700. If he finishes the season there, he'll be the first player in 20 years.

If
If only the Orioles did not have to play the NL Central this season. It is such a weird thing that makes little sense.

They have been great within the division and the american league.

But, the 4-11 record versus the NL Central is a big WTF.

In fact, the Orioles looked like total crap whenever they played any National League teams all year, especially the central.

If only the Orioles could play the Yankees more often. 8-4, is it?

Injuries have truly derailed this season for the Orioles.

Though they made the postseason, it doesnt look look as far as a deep run for either of these two teams.

Guardians, Phillies, or Dodgers. Maybe even the gd Astros.

maybe, its possible they flop.

But, this Orioles team is actually better constructed for the shorter intense post-season than the 102 win team last year.
2023 was a team that relied on backend depth in the bullpen not starting pitching. They were built for the 162 games marathon slog.

2023 playoffs: overachieving #3 starter, uneven rookie, and a #4 starter
2024 playoffs: #1 ACE cy young candidate, #2 solid starter with World series experience, and a #4 starter.

Who cares if the 2023 bullpen was deep if they were trailing the Rangers after mediocre starting pitching.
The three starting playoff pitchers last year combined for 8 total innings. Nobody can win without a true #1 or #2 in a short series.

I admire your optimism, and I agree that it's possible for the Orioles to move on, but to me it doesn't seem likely.

Burnes is a legit #1, true. Ellfin can be a #2, but he didn't do that well last night vs the Yanks. Kremer is as inconsistent as they come. You almost want to have Kremer / Suarez platoon a start, bc they both are good for either one or two times through the order, but not 3 times through the order.

The other issue the O's have is their inconsistent hitting. Sure, they seem to be swinging the bats better recently, especially now that Mountcastle, Westburg and Urias are back, but how consistent can they be? Can they keep it up?

On paper, the lineup is talented and deep, but they also rely a lot on homeruns. Can they mash in the postseason against everybody's #1 - #3 pitchers, especially lefties?

Hard to see, especially with how deep the Guardians pitching staff is, in addition to the Dodgers.

Those guys are all right handed. That was a major reason the offense has struggled.....the team had only one RH bat.
The offense will be a lot better when they get some right handed bats back. Don't discount how important that is for winning.

They traded Hayes like dumbasses. Then Mateo, Mountcastle, Westburg, and Urias all got injured together.
That was the entire roster of right handed batters. A freakish injury wave that seemingly targeted only right hand batters.

Gunnar, Cowser, Mullins, Holliday, Krjstead, and Santander are all lefties.
Anthony Santander is a left handed batter that just pretend to be a switch-hitter, he sucks from the right side.

The O's had one single player, Adley Rutschman, as the only player who is not a replacement level Jabroni batting right-handed.

Red Sox were also rather lefty heavy offensively

Yep you are a sore loser aka bandwagon fan. Talk when you win but you run away when you lose. If you weren’t such a little bitch you could talk baseball like a normal adult…well unless you are some punk kid. In that case, it makes sense
