He's definitely better now. He used to have little mini slumps, even when he set the HR record. Not anymore. He's a man among boys.

Never seen a better return for a ’mid’ pitcher than what the Marlins got for Rogers. Orioles made this trade purely to get a controlled lefty. What an overpay.

He’s still young and has been VERY good at times in the past. I’m sure the Orioles can get him back on track. I like this move for them. They have prospects to trade all day long anyway.

He’s still young and has been VERY good at times in the past. I’m sure the Orioles can get him back on track. I like this move for them. They have prospects to trade all day long anyway.

I feel like Norby is a top 3-5 guy for most systems, and to get a guy who has been very mediocre for him in return is a pretty meh deal. Add in that we gave them Stowers too, and didn’t get someone else in return, and it’s very frustrating.

Whatever runs that the Orioles gain by playing Eloy Jimenez against LHP, they are going to lose defensively when some combination of Santander, Eloy, Mountcastle and O’Hearn have to play LF/RF/1B/DH, because Cowser or Mullins will get moved to CF and the other ride the bench.

This move is bizarre.

You also get another 2 years of Rogers. He’s not a rental. If they can get him back on track, he’ll be a steal. We’ll see if Norby ends up being missed, but the O’s just have a ton of elite prospects. There won’t be room for all of them. I like this move.

he's played 100+ games twice, no more than 125. He's had a pretty poor year at the plate and he has to hit to have any real value. It's not like he's hitting well since coming off the IL either.

At least it doesn't sound like they're giving up much or taking on a ton of payroll, but honestly I'd just roll with the outfield prospects over him.

Playing for the Marlins is like baseball Siberia. The heat of a pennant race will get him motivated and focused. Better coaching and prep will help. He’s still young. I’m not throwing in the towel yet.
