Only thing I like about Hicks is his arm

Great Defender, hate his at bats, never have faith in him in the box.........He's a mistake hitter who will run into one here or there, but him protecting Sanchez has to stop

Time to send Austin down. Bird should be ready in 2 more weeks-Walker can cover first in the meantime.

Might as well get Drury up too. Stop wasting those hits in Scranton!

i have come to the conclusion that Austin is our first baseman of the future. Bird is an injury issue and I don't see that stopping.

but with the way Austin is slumping at the plate, it is time to send him down for Drury.

No way, Austin will be a throw in on a deal, the organization knows he doesn't have a future here, huge gaping hole in his bat

I agree. Austin is a back-up, not a starter on a championship level team.

I still hold out hope for Bird, and can't wait to see him take his rightful place hitting 3rd between Judge and Stanton.

3 starts in Tampa so far, and he's still in 1 piece. Breath held and fingers crossed!

This is why I hate that 1 game playoffs crap.

There is a decent chance the Yanks/Sox end up with 2 of the top 4 or 5 records in baseball but yet one of them will be in a 1 game playoffs in early October.

Flipside of that is at least they get a shot.

1993 SF Giants won 103 games and went home. I'm sure they would've taken the 1 gamer.

I'm not sure where he ends up, but he has a one-way ticket to Palookaville written all over him......

Reminds me of Mike Pagliarulo. Swings in the same place every time. If the balls there too, great, otherwise he's missing by 6 inches.

Andujar has played a solid 3rd so far, but was shocked he didn't throw home in A's game when they were down the other day....He had the guy dead at home, but went to second instead....As for his hitting, he needs to be more patient and stop chasing the breaking stuff, he has to realize every at bat he might only see a few fastballs.....He needs to lock in when in a hitter's count and look fastball to do real damage....It's a long season, he'll have his ups and downs, but he's been more than you could ask for for his age and experience right now....

Winning the division looks like it will be very important this year.

The 2nd place team may very well be in a one game playoffs with a 90+ win Astros or Angels team.

See who's pitching?

I'd be concerned with not getting no-hit again. :)

As a Sox fan, I'm more worried about the bullpen and the fact that the team is 11-11 in its last 22 games.

I remember reading that the 2004 Red Sox played an 80 game stretch at exactly .500. They finished up OK.

That's baseball, even for very good teams, most of the time. .500 ball accentuated by a few winning streaks.

You're right the '04 team didn't really start heating up until like late July, I'm worried that this years team just got off to a really hot start and now are playing like who they really are.

And with the '04 team we knew that team was good, with this team, I'm not nearly as confident.
