Can Machado win the MVP on a team with the worst record?

I know a few guys have won with last place teams, but the worst in baseball??

He plays Shortstop aswhich helps the argument being the most important defensive position.

And considering nobody else can hit, he never gets to see any good pitches like other well protected players in lineups.

But, I still give it 0%.

Right now probably not. Betts and Trout have better offensive stats while playing on potential playoff teams.

I'm a believer in position scarcity, but Betts and Trout are hardly slouches defensively (not to mention Betts' 21 point advantage in wRC+ is pretty big)

I think Aaron Hicks is 100% a 4th OF, I hate that guy and where he bats in the order
