You can't blame the manager for everything. Girardi can't go out there and hit for them. Before the game yesterday I believed they scored 3 runs or less in 16 of 18 or something like that.

Because they are all past their prime. Once a player passes his prime, his numbers go down and that is what we are seeing with this Yankees team.

Now the miscues on the basepath and miscues in the field that we saw this weekend, those are the things that Girardi needs to fix.

Sox just got better

Red Sox activated RHP Carson Smith from the 15-day disabled list.

Smith, who began the season on the disabled list with a strained flexor tendon, was cleared to join the Red Sox after making it through two minor league rehab games. The 26-year-old was acquired from the Mariners over the winter and is capable of being a dominant set-up man if healthy.

you can't make this stuff up... i tuned in twice to the yankee/balt game... in under a minutes time of watching i see servino drop the ball after tex makes great play at 1st to let in yet another unearned run, then i see macann get doubled up at 1st on a line drive, this is little league stuff!! ... and you tell me this isn't on the coach? who's responsible then?

I don't think he's at fault but you can't trade 25 players obviously. I do think the roster make up is more of the issue though. A lot of old players (30+) past their prime is the bigger issue
