Didn't the Yankees retire #1-98 anyway?

Showalter wants to be fired.
There is literally no sane reason to keep trotting Miley out there now that Tillman is back.

The 4 man rotation is set. Roll out anyone else if you need the 5th starter to save your tired multimillionaires.
Any warm body will work. The team hates him. They look defeated before he throws pitch one.

It is a broken record....he gets rocked early, then some reliever comes in and serves up batting practice meatballs in disgust to just end the game.

Red Sox now at 790 runs. They need 110 in the final 20 games to reach 900, or an average of 5.5 runs per game. They're averaging 5.52 R/G on the season. Last team to score 900+ runs was the 2009 Yanks. Last year's Jays came awfully close at 891.

(Just looking back, the 2007 Yanks scored almost 1000 runs? Jesus. I knew they had a good lineup with A-Rod having a monster year, but I didn't remember it being that good.)
Cleveland Indians in 1999 scored over 1000 runs. Not a bad team.....

Omar and Robbie- the best defensive middle infield that I have ever seen (and I would think most)- both hit the crap outta the ball...

Robbie Alomar- .323/.422/.533....955 ops, 24 hr, 138 runs (WTF!) 120 rbis 37 steals
Omar Vizquel- .333/.397/.436 833 ops, 5 hr, 112 runs 42 steals

how bout Kenny?

.301/.405/.432 120 runs 25 steals

---not bad table setter on base percentages huh? .422, .397, and .405..

Power?

Jim Thome- .277/.426/.540 ops .967 33 hr 108 rbis 101 runs
Manny Ramirez- .333/.442/.663 1105 ops (WTF) 131 runs (WTF!)
David Justice- .287/.413/.476 889 ops 21 hrs and 88 rbis
Richie Sexson .255/.395 31 hrs 116 rbis

those were the big sticks- but Fryman, Sandy Alomar were solid as well.

now that is a historic offense.

@navamind can your boys come back and win this game?

I liked it better when the O's were doormats.

5-3, but it could get ugly. 7 innings from the Sox bullpen is a lot to ask for, though they haven't given up any through 6. Joe Kelly might finally be useful!

Not to mention the Sox still have to face Brach and Britton.

This already has been a successful homestand which is what we needed. Depending on what happens tomorrow, they either end the homestand 7-3 or 8-2. Can't really complain either way.
