11-2 Sox. Jays defense has been very Yakety Sax-esque.

If the Yankees score hold up, they'll be 1 game behind Detroit and Baltimore both for the 2nd WC. Only 2 games back of Toronto for the 1st WC.

Watching Betances close games is so frustrating. Really hope he's not the closer next year

Red Sox will gladly take him off your hands since he's so "incapable" of closing games.

3rd rain delay of the night. The first necessary rain delay of the 9th. The first 2 delays were such bullshit. Game should have been over a long time ago

Even the best relievers have spurts of incompetence. It doesn't take much to fuck up a reliever's stats (and Betances has a 1.69 ERA and .290 OBP allowed since the end of July).

This game won't start back until probably 1230. This umpire is a joke. The fact that in the previous 2 rain delays, he was told the rain would be done in 2-3 minutes (which it was) and insisted on bringing out the tarp is a damn shame. What a dick

I know his numbers are fine. Ever since Miller was traded though, 9th innings are no longer easy and stress free. He rarely blow games but he stresses me out as a Yankees fan in the 9th much more than Miller or Chapman did as a closer. This would have been a straight forward save if it was Miller or Chapman with a 3 run lead in the 9th. Betances is going to leave the game (due to the rain delay) in a huge jam. 1st and 3rd with tying run at the plate.

I hope it ends in a repeat of that Rangers-Yankees back in June

The stats may not back up the perception, but the perception I have of watching Betances is he is almost unhittable in the 7th or 8th. But when he has to close a game it is like he loses his control.

Yep exactly. He always behind in the count or walking batters and putting himself in trouble. Usually get out of it but frustrating as heck for Yankees fans.

I feel like the Yankees season will be decided by those 8 road games they have left in Boston and Toronto. If they can go 4-4 or 5-3, I like their chances of making the playoffs. But 2-6 or 3-5 likely ends our chances

Exactly what I was saying earlier. Game should have been over at least an hour ago if the previous rain delays were handled correctly and by correctly I mean they should have played on.

I said 89 wins gets you into the AL playoffs and will stick with that. So if the Yankees hold on tonight, they still need to go 14-8 in my mind. Regardless of where or who they are playing.

Yeah they were talking about it on the Kay show this afternoon. With the way they've been playing since bringing up the kids going 14-8 or 15-7 ( to reach 90 wins) seems very possible.
