it really warmed up today. topped 50 degrees.
2 series at home. then Tigers go out to California. I like it. players get hurt in cold weather.

21st straight opening day I've went to is in the books. The crowds were bigger and drunker than ever. Things looked bleak as Detroit would have to break thru on the KC bullpen, but they pulled it out.

From what i saw -- Castellanos needs some reps at 3B, but he should be fine. He looked pretty good at the plate. Going to be a different kind of year for Detroit, but it is going to be fun none the less.

I've only been to a handful. (It was my Dads first. Hopefully it was worth the wait.) Best game, best day and best street party atmosphere I've seen for a Opening Day. KC got even better on D I fear. Wish I could say for sure that Detroit did too. JV didn't get much help. (Cost him a lot of extra pitches)Made a damn fine play himself though.

Well I, for one, am glad we didn't go into extra innings where we'd have to throw Coke or Joba out there.

And anytime Alburquerque gets through an inning with no walks, you can consider it a bonus appearance.

I was really hoping KC could win by virtue of bullpen attrition the way that game was going. Turned out to be a flip of script in several surprising ways. Or is it? It is baseball after all.
