Well, I remember Cleaves saying Cabrera will get walked a ton this year, especially in the late innings of a close game. There it is, and Victor couldn't make 'em pay.

Miggy should have been walked a ton in late innings of games for about 4 or 5 years now, no matter what...I hope all of baseball figures that out finally...the guy might have won more games than anyone over the last 5 years.

Yes, I think he leads the majors in game-tying or winning HRs in the 9th inning or later over the last few years.

the Royals pen might be middle of the pack with a good closer right now...hochevar/Chen/Coleman added some pretty great numbers to that bullpen last season to make up for the average guys...this might need some adjusting.

Davis definately isn't an 8th inning guy yet, rather take my chances with Herrera.

21st straight opening day I've went to is in the books. The crowds were bigger and drunker than ever. Things looked bleak as Detroit would have to break thru on the KC bullpen, but they pulled it out.

From what i saw -- Castellanos needs some reps at 3B, but he should be fine. He looked pretty good at the plate. Going to be a different kind of year for Detroit, but it is going to be fun none the less.

Are you trolling? Holland was/is one of, if not the best closer in baseball. Yost's fault mostly to put in a low leverage reliever in Crow to clean up Shields' runners. Wasn't shocked at all by the WP with a man on 3rd...

And Coleman had a small sample size last year. How on earth was he hiding the bad performance of anyone in the pen last year? Even Herrera eventually turned out to be a serviceable reliever (in fact, he was pretty good again after the 2nd callup) to give the pen several candidates. Even Crow isn't horrible, as erratic and irritating to me as he may be in close games.
