Football players at the University of Nebraska aren't the only ones who benefit from the school's multimillion-dollar Adidas contract.

The five-year deal includes $40,000 per year in Adidas gear for student sections and another $50,000 for ushers at sports venues. It even includes $10,000 for an annual campus event that promotes "student life."

Of course, the athletic department gets the bulk of the benefit: $1 million in cash and $3 million in footwear and apparel annually.

Chucksker, are you getting your fair share of Adidas gear? Or is that something that is said but not done. I will have to ask my niece also.

Free t-shirts for getting basketball tickets...maybe football as well? Some of them you have to pick up, which I never end up doing. They also give away shirts for various reasons...I know they did an "ugly sweater" basketball t-shirt that you could get for going to the women's game vs. Duke a while back.

I know one was offered when i bought football tickets last year, i never picked it up though. i would assume for random basketball games they are laid out on the chairs much like NBA teams do during the playoffs

That was my first thought, but Tennessee's won an NC since then. Their Halloween Uni's were awful.

Darlington is by far the most gifted. Riley' s evaluation will be interesting.

They definitely affect recruiting to at least a small degree. All I know about it is that Oregon sometimes looks good, and sometimes looks like trash in their special Nike pro combat unis and stuff. I know these younger kids seem to always like it though. And Maryland in their Under Armor version of Oregon ALWAYS looks ridiculous. I don't know if Adidas does that stupid stuff to their Alma mater.

Notre Dame at least played for an NC as an Adidas school... well they showed up at the stadium.

Didn't they switch to UA the next season or so?

Oh I absolutely guarantee you it influences recruiting decisions.

If you give the average 18 year old the option to have a $35,000 brand new vehicle decked out with chrome, leather interior, state of the art speakers, and a sweet ass garage to put it in, and then tell them it will only get 15 miles to the gallon......or the option to have an old car that costs $2,000, gets 28 miles to the gallon, and will go for another 150,000 miles, with a sweet ass garage to put it in......which one is the average 18 year old going to take?

They don't look to the future as much as they do what's happening right here and now. And the garage I'm referring to is the facilities. Kids would rather just look flashy on TV than have sweet ass facilities to hang out in.
