says he doesn't plan on switching the hack-a-shaq strategy. pretty good questions from kornheiser
That's good news because the best way for the players to avoid that is to get off their lazy rich asses and learn how to make their damned free throwssays he doesn't plan on switching the hack-a-shaq strategy. pretty good questions from kornheiser
MAKE your damn freethrows
Why change the rules for the small group of a half dozen jackasses who cannot even make a PUTRID MEDIOCRE 60%?
If they cant make them, those guys will stop being drafted eventually.

I wouldn't mind seeing new stats to break FT down into categories.
1. Shooting foul FT
2. Bonus foul FT
3. Trying to extend the game FT (down by 2 with 20 seconds left)
4. Hacking strategy FT
5. Tech FT
This would help tell the story of a game better and it would shut up the conspiracy theorist box score watchers.
It would also be easier to determine the effectiveness of the hacking strategy. I really don't think I've seen many games in my life where the haack-a-shaq strategy has clearly worked.

Good. Because there is nothing more entertaining in sports than watching a guy take free throws.
I saw it. Event though commissioners are usually indecisive and unlikable, I liked that Adam Silver was straightforward and decisive in his statements. Also, he didn't show bias towards one side or the other.
it is great watching an elite nba player not being able to complete one of the easiest parts of the game
I feel like the last 2-3 minutes of a basketball game(especially college) are virtually unwatchable. And, sadly, that's the time when the game is decided.
Foul> free throw> time out> foul> free throw> time out etc.....etc....
I used to love basketball/march madness, but now I can't even watch anymore. Silver needs to figure out how to fix THAT!

It can be easily fixed with the players making their free throws and if the player's are to lazy to fix it, then owners can fix it by writing in penalties and a drop in salary for not making them. If you aren't doing your job properly at work - That's pretty much what happens to you. You get your chops bustedThe problem is that there is really no way to stop it beyond what has already been done. If a team is behind, the best way to get back in the game is to extend it and stop the clock as much as possible. The best way to do that is to foul and hope they miss.
