The ACC is starting to think BIG folks. First, a grant of rights deal to seal the conference. Now they are planning to play some games across the pond.

FSU won over NIU easily. Clemson ended LSU's 19 game winning streak against ACC teams. VT beat the Big East's co-champion. GT beat USC by 2 TDs.

At first I thought the Europe idea was perhaps just for an early season basketball game or two.....but, the article also mentions football.

Football.....ouch.....the season ticket holders won't be happy with that, nor will the campus bean counters who rely on 7 home games per year in order to attempt to keep the books in the black, nor will the local companies & employees who rely on income from home games (food and other material suppliers, security services, janitorial services, ticket takers, local bars, restaurants and hotels, parking lot services, etc.) This idea will piss-off A LOT of people.

A few European games sound like a good idea for basketball, but a VERY bad idea for football.

I'm sure clearer heads will prevail in regards to the football idea, and the braintrust of the ACC will realize that football games need to remain exclusively in the States.

.....continued.....Michigan State & UConn played a basketball game in Germany @ the Ramstein Airbase this past season, and it was pretty cool to see on TV..... and more college hoops games in Europe would OCCASIONALLY be nice.....but.....keep the football at home where it belongs.
