Okay. I accept that the power increase is some evidence that Ortiz may have been on the roids.

That means you agree that Judge's power increase is evidence he is doping, right?
No. Your sample size for Judge is ridiculously small, the guy is an absolute Giant and he just turned 25.
However, I agree that Judge is as likely to be on some type of PED as half the league is. Which IMO is higher than many others think.

Interesting take.

What would being reinstated into baseball get him other than inclusion in the HOF?
Reinstated in baseball would allow him to work for a team, as in manage or coach again. I don't think that should be allowed, and his indefinite suspension should remain. The HOF is a completely separate entity than MLB, and only put in the rule that permanently banned players are ineligible AFTER Rose was suspended. I don't like that rule.

Unlike Bonds/Rodriguez who were pretty small guys when they got their debut, Judge was HUGE when he came up. That's a lot of force to put behind a bat. When I start working out and pumping weights I usually hit my drives (golf) about 10-15 yards further and I'm certainly no 6'7" 270 lb guy of pure muscle.

I actually think Judge is legit... usually guys his size don't have the dexterity/agility to connect on a lot of pitches, but Judge seems to have it. I'd be looking at Bellinger (still big, 6'4") first if anything.

Let's look at the facts:

His best year prior to 2017 was last year where he hit 19 homers at AAA and 4 in the majors.

That's 23 homers over 505 plate appearances or about one homer every 22 plate appearances.

NOW, in the majors, facing major league pitching, he has 13 homers over 104 plate appearances or a homer every 8 plate appearances. Seems rather implausible.

Combine this with the fact that we've seen this startling onset of power just last year on, surprise surprise, the Yankees with Gary Sanchez. Prior to last year, Gary, like Aaron, had a year where he was hitting approximately one homer every 22 plate appearances. All of a sudden he's called up and proceeds to hit a homer every 11 plate appearances and forces himself into consideration for rookie of the year.

So we're expected to believe that in back to back years the Yankees have produced rookies that have homered at a record clip despite having only moderate success in the minors? Really?

Instead of testing Eric Thames 5 times a week, maybe MLB should send some of its cup holders to the Bronx.

Shocking, absolutely shocking, this is happening yet again. This time with GayBar Torres. So obvious yet MLB continues to let the Yankees cheat rampantly.

Three years in a row, three Yankee prospects all of a sudden hitting home runs at rates they never dreamed of in the minors. Hmmmmmmm.
