how bad does it have to be in some markets if they consider moving a team to play in Le Colisee for a couple of years before the new rink is built ... were the chien chauds that tasty?

and after that ... then what?

wheres the next VIABLE market to take on a financially floundering team

in other news: Aubut still a pompous french fuck

“I know that (NHL commissioner Gary) Bettman would have chosen Quebec City way before Winnipeg,” said Aubut. “I remember when the Nordiques left, he said ‘we just lost a big asset, with the cultural aspect that Quebec represents.’ This was an American talking!”

There's been some talk about Seattle recently. I wonder how much of a lead QC has over them in Bettman's eyes.

Seattle should get a team. I went to a Sounders game last weekend and it was a crowd of like 40k. for a soccer game. in america.

their fans are crazy too, i definitely think seattle should be looked at.

They better start building that arena in Bellevue, Washington because Key Arena is not suitable for hockey...

During the cup final, Bill Daly was on seattle news and said Key Arena wasnt a feasible hockey option ... could be wrong but i think it seats 14000 for hockey ... they have no other short term rink option except for the Tacoma Dome which as mentioned Tuesday is being studied for a potential renovation/retrofit. This all being said, there is a chance that multiple teams could need new homes in the near future. If the NHL agrees to let a team play in the Colisee, anything could be possible

imo, seattle fans are a little fickle ... I wanna see what kind of support the MLS team gets when they start losing. Theyve been known to abandon teams (M's). My brother covers MLS soccer in Vancouver and his observation when he went to games in Portland and Seattle this year was that the fans were more interested in communal/group singing and swaying in the stands than the actual game itself. Fans are going there fr the atmosphere right now ... how long does that last?

As far as Quebec City is concerned, the sooner a team is back there, the better. The battle of Quebec had some (as the kids say) epic games and I dig those Nords uniforms.

X3 but like the battle of Alberta it will be quite a bit watered down from over the years. That being said I believe that Nords fans will easily bring up the rivalry for Montreal, just not the players...
