Not an upgrade, period in the OF. Definitely a much needed upgrade at 1B and DH. I have more faith in him than I do Hosmer figuring it out right off the DL.

Your drunk if you think his power is not a better value in the OF over Aoki...I am fine with him at 1b over Hosmer too...

Let Dyson/Willingham platoon...on Dysons days he plays for Hosmer...Willingham plays every game.

Aoki should be a pinch hitter and pinch runner the rest of the season..That is one guy I am completely done with.

Yeah I'm so happy. I was listening to the Michael Kay show today and they said that after this series the only teams the Royals play with a winning record are the tigers & Yankees which is just 11 of their games.

They should win the division unless some of those bad teams in the central play spoiler

As a Tiger fan I hope they play Aoki and Hosmer over Willingham.

Willingham has really struggled the last two months or so but he is still a very dangerous bat who hits homers in bunches.

He also walks a ton so even with his shitty average he is getting on base at a good clip.

Not surprising. His velocity was mostly hovering around 91, occasionally touching 94. That can't be a healthy Verlander.

I just stopped in. There are no excuses. It isn't a secret the Tigers bullpen is a disaster and JV has been off for almost the whole year.

That being said -- I still believe Detroit will win the Central. The injuries hurt, but that is baseball. Detroit is a streaky team this year, as KC has been too, and this is a down time for Detroit. Hopefully it isn't prolonged like the 30 game stretch they had earlier or they are in trouble.

With the addition of Price, I don't see the Tigers going thru a prolonged stretch though, unless the bullpen decide to blow every game those two pitch, which has been the case over the past couple starts.

I wish the Royals fans the best of luck -- hopefully they get into the playoffs, as they seem to have some great fans

White Sox have been my most hated team since I was a kid listening to Rod Carew and the Twins in the 70's. I actually kinda liked the Tigers when they were in the East, but a few fans turned me against them but most of those fans aren't on the Hoop so i've gone back to not hating them.

I loved Pierzynski, when he was traded from the Twins to the Giants he used to sit in the clubhouse before Giants games and watch the Twins because he loved the club, his Giant teammates hated him for it! Awesome!!!
