For whatever reason, the Tigers can't score runs. Now #1 in OBP, #2 in batting average, and dropped to #10 in runs scored. Part of it is lack of home runs, part is leading the league in GIDPs, and part is just plain not getting their hits in bunches. It wasn't the case last night, but there have been too many games where the Tigers outhit their opponents, only to score fewer runs.

Still 4 months to go in the season, and we have to hope this is one of those things that eventually evens out over 162 games. But it could be one of those seasons where it never does.

There's a reason Boston let him go. I've never seen a hitter try to pull outside pitches more than Cespedes. Usually a whiff or a weak grounder to short when he does that.

He's upgraded the LF defense significantly, and gives the Tigers a guy in the middle of the lineup who can actually score from first on a double. But man, he drives me nuts with constantly swinging at outside pitches.
