I like how the Flames use the Atlanta logo for the alternate captains...

That is a cool way to pay homage to the history of the franchise.

I'm trying to figure out how the Oilers managed to change their logo six times without really changing anything! At least the Leafs and Habs changed the size or lettering a bit.

Great thread idea.

Favourite logo might be the classic Whalers one. I love simple designs, and if you can incorporate city & team letters, all the better. Especially if you use the negative space. I also kind of like the alternate Caps

one in that regard - using the negative space for the capitol building. NJ does it well with the letters too.

Also nice to see some teams go back to classics after some lame 90s "stylish" logos. Sabres, Penguins and Islanders stand out in that regard. Hopefully the Senators do too - I hate 3D type logos - it's a logo, it's supposed to look flat!

Of relatively new teams / logos, I only really like the Jets. But that has the makings of a classic.

Finally, worst logos? "The slug", the second Chicago one, Columbus & modern Atlanta, the orange themed Canucks, the nordiques (are they elephants?) and that weird font "B" - what were they thinking?

Meh its all opinnion the rangers used that statue of liberty logo as their primary logo throughout an entire season and marketed it hard.I also don't see very subtle to no changes in some of these logos.This is actually my favorite Toronto logo much more detailed and and defined

It was their 3rd Jersey and Alternate logo. They marketed it hard, because it was new, and wasn't going to last long. (1996-2003)
