We don't know what's going on behind the scenes..........

Yoshi says Martinez determined

Nebraska senior offensive tackle Yoshi Hardrick evidently has a good relationship with quarterback Taylor Martinez, who has endured his share of criticism during his college career.

Hardrick and Martinez exchange texts almost every night, Hardrick said after Tuesday's practice.

Yes, Martinez has heard the fan and media criticism in the wake of his rough performance in Saturday's loss at Wisconsin, Hardrick said.

"He gets a lot of people talking about him," Hardrick said. "I think it finally hit him (this week). He'd been holding in a lot. He said he couldn't take it anymore. He knows he played bad ... I guess you have to man up to the media when you mess up, pretty much."

Hardrick said the players have Martinez's back.

"Everybody loves Taylor," Yoshi said. "He's the team's leader. He's the quarterback. If we turn our back on him, it'd be pretty bad.

"I know he's trying to keep everybody happy, keep everybody upbeat. He's not trying to hold his head down. I know he's trying to do the extra things. At practice, he's trying to be better on his passing. I think he's trying to go through more of his reads. I think he was rushing a little.

"He's trying to take it to the next level. He's tired of being the same quarterback, tired of all the same criticism ... He just told me he was sick (of it). These next seven games, he just wants the world to get off his back, so he's going to do something about it.

"That's pretty much what he told me in a text last night."

Wouldn't it had just been easier to call Yoshi than to text all that since they are such good friends? I have friends but would rather talk than text. Unless of course that is how Taylor communicates with everyone close to him which I'm sure causes extreme thumb pain; which could explain the passing issues....just sayin'

...you forgot the rest of the article. For crying out loud people are making snide comments to his girlfriend and talking about him in class!

------

Martinez threw for 176 yards and rushed for 61 Saturday night, but gunned three interceptions that led to Wisconsin touchdowns.

Hardrick says negativity follows Martinez even to his classes.

"In our class, some girl told him, 'Stop throwing interceptions,' " Hardrick said. "He's like, 'It's just too much. Even in Spanish class, they're talking about interceptions.' "

Hardrick said Martinez doesn't like the fact people talk negatively about Martinez to his girlfriend.

"I think that really got to him," Yoshi said.

This is the first time Hardrick has seen Martinez angry about the negativity.

"We can't let him feel like he's on an island by himself," Hardrick said. "We're not pointing any fingers. We'll take the losses as a team, and we can win as a team. We need everybody. He's gonna be the biggest person we need to win."

lol jk. but seriously....not of this matters until we see his on field performance improve. its something to say your sick of being the same quarterback, but its all on him to make that ACTUALLY happen. trust me i will completely say "you told me so" to JJM should taylor turn his game around and become a good QB, and i will admit that i turned my back on him way to fast. but until i see that actually happen, i do not believe that he can be the future for the quarterback at nebraska

I actually do not believe in Taylor as a QB at this moment, as I've said several times since the Wisconsin game...................

But treating him as a human being is a completely different thing. That's all I've been talking about here in the past few days. The guy is all about the Huskers, and he doesn't deserve to be treated like shit just because he had a bad game.

BTW, did ye all hear about Lavonte standing up at halftime and then again after the Wisconsin game and talking to the team??

They said that is the first time he has ever done that. Seriously, we have to have people stepping up and leading. That is ridiculous that he is a Senior, and one of the best (if not THEEEE best) players on our defense..........and they've never heard him talk before.

Shit, maybe he's shy or somethin.........but someone has to say somethin out there!!! Crick, Dennard............someone for shit sake!!!

Ding ding ding! If getting schooled in Spanish class is what it takes to get it through his head, then good for that girl "Hey Taylor, stop throwing interceptions" LOL. My jury is still out here, waiting to see what becomes of playing against the best defense we will face this year.

I hope he does improve and shows the Husker nation he has what it takes to take us to the level pf play that as a Husker nation... we expect to be...

But.... let me rant a little... and get rid of my frustrations of shit I hear and deal with daily by the new norm....

Give me a fucking break

This fucking society has turned to shit

POOR ME SYNDROME

I WANT, I WANT, IWANT

GIMMIE, GIMMIE, GIMMIE

THEY TALKING MEAN ABOUT ME

THEY ARE TEARING ME DOWN IN THE PRESS

BOO HOO

News flash; if this makes you mad.. do something about it...show the fucking people who pay thousands of dollars to watch you play that you appreciate the opportunity to get your degree and a free ride at the university, all the while playing a game and living a dream.

(May be the wrong crowd here Youthful); but for those of you who are already out in the real world

How many of you get to do the same things wrong over and over and over and would still be employed or working or not be replaced by someone else?

You see, this is what is being taught to our children today (POP WERNER SHIT) now a days

Used to be the team that won the championship won a trophy

Fuck; now there is a tournament and every team gets a trophy no matter win or lose

Or youth wrestling programs where there are 4 kids in a bracket and all of them get a trophy...

That is setting a great example to our kids...

Heres the speech To kids now days:

Son/Daughter, go out and have fun and try.... it don't matter if you win.... as long as you tried

They then step up to the podium receiving their precious 4th place trophy...and hear
the infamous words GOOD JOB

Sorry guys not trying to sound like a dick but our society has become weak in nature they have become dependant on others and have expectations or entitlement attitudes

Sounds to me (reading some of these articles that TM may be finally showing a little balls and getting pissed). However in saying that I will add I don't care what is written in the tabloids/twitter or twater!!!!

Show me on game day...

"The desire to be a Champion..."
