How about this for some storylines if the Cubs and Indians face off for the world series.

For cities, it probably would have meant more for Cleveland had the Cavaliers not just won an NBA title, but you got the city of Cleveland vs Chicago, the magic that would be the city of Cleveland winning an NBA and MLB title in the same year would be amazing/shocking.

CUBS vs INDIANS the two longest WS drought teams in the MLB, obviously the Cubs far longer and much more heart break and the curse. Indians should have won it in 97, but oh well, nothing compared to what the franchise of the Cubs have had to deal with.

Terry Francona - Manager of the Boston Red Sox when they ended their curse. Has a chance to bring a world series to Cleveland.

Theo Epstein - apart of the Front Office and driving force of the Boston Red Sox rise and was present in that capacity when they ended their curse. Has a chance to also end the Cubs curse.

Probably far far more storylines to add but these are some that are intriguing to me.

BTW I thought there would be no way the Cubs won the WS this year because the sport Gods already granted the city of Cleveland a NBA title.

Now the Gods have pitted Cleveland vs Cubs in the World Series......

What is going on up there!??!

MLB has a real chance here to promote the sport of baseball and become extremely relevant again. I haven't been this excited about baseball in a really long time. I am having flashbacks to when I was young and was following the Indians in 1997.

Since game 3 of the Dodgers/Cubs I have been intently following the post season, and like every sport fan am extremely excited for this WS.

But for MLB there is a ton to grow here. The sports world is going to be tuning into MLB and following MLB closely for at least the next 4 games, best case scenario for the league is this goes 7 game series.

But it gives MLB a chance to shine on a grand stage. And to the casual sport fan that is going to tune in I am sure they are going to get sucked into the magnitude of this series with how passionate these two fan bases are and how much suffering they have endured.

With NFL ratings plummeting, MLB has a chance to grow in sports relevance over the next week and possibly carry that momentum into next season.

The intriguing thing is going to be how or what does MLB do to carry this momentum forward for the sport.
