It's hard to win as a team when your General is out of action. Ryan Vogelsong is all the way back from that injury to his hand that has had him out. Today he pitched his best game of the season and one of the best for the Giants season to date. He goes out and gives the Giants 8 tremendous innings giving up only 2 hits and he struck out 5 Pittsburgh batters . He dominated the field of battle as the troops rallied around him putting up 4 runs as the Giants rolled to a 4-0 victory.
Pablo Sandoval had a big day and he looks to be coming back to form. He had the big hit of the day. He hit a booming shot to the wall in triples alley which scored two which iced the game. Posey had a 2 hit day and a RBI and raised his average back up to .307 for the year.
A good sign today was that the Giants played a decent series against a top team in the NL. Today the Giants looked like the GIANTS of 2012 which made for a happy day for a full house on dog day at the yard. Even the dogs went home happy as they watched from the center field bleachers.
Today though belonged to General Vogelsong who is back in action and it looks pretty solid now that the Giants will pick up his 6.5 Mill option for next year and you can't go into action without a General in charge. Today he was fully in charge.
