I put this loss on the guys actually throwing the baseball not the manager who asked them to do their jobs

Agreed. Just meaning that Richmond lost 30+ games in the 8th and 9th innings this season, an unbelievable stat. I was counting the games for a while, and stopped at 30.

That leadoff HR to Arenado was the killer. Get him out, we have a chance. He hits the dinger, and the lugnuts are already loose.

Casilla got away with his lack of stuff last night but not tonight. Of course, he'll be back out there again when it comes time to blow the next save. Gradually throwing away the season with these pathetic, garbage-ass losses.

Giants could become the first team to have the best record before the break and then the worst after it, 17-32 now.

Gardner - maybe a sacrificial lamb, but I doubt it. (Sorry, LHG)

a blown save and loss. It's a virtual gut punch.

The only very small positive is that this one didn't drag out deep into extra innings for the Giants to lose. Good to have no game tomorrow and a break from this crap.

Before Casilla blew this one, Fleming was saying on the radio how Casilla said that he appreciated Bochy showing faith in him after Sunday's blown save. Words apparently don't equal actions with Casilla.

This is a terrific way to show appreciation! "Hey boss, thanks for your confidence! Watch me blow another game!"

When does this team get eliminated from the playoffs so we can just move on with our lives? They seem to find every imaginable way to lose a game, and then do it. We can start with a completely new roster and coaching staff next year? FIRE EVERYBODY!!!!!!!

It will come down to the last weekend of the season, just to make it as tough as possible.

The scary part is that Bochy will still probably keep going to him, instead of using closer-by-committee. It's nice to see that some guys can keep screwing up and keep getting more chances so that their fragile egos can be massaged, even after showing up the manager on the field. Casilla should be mad at himself and not at anyone else.

Ex-Giant (and Padre and Dodger) Dave Roberts just used 7 relievers to pitch 4 clean innings to pull out the 3-1 win over the D-Backs. We are now 5 games back. They also used their 4th consecutive rookie to start a game. We must look like the rocket base to them as they create separation in the division race.

From Pavlovic:

Bruce Bochy was so angry after a walk-off loss that he could barely get through his first couple answers to reporters. (Good! He SHOULD be angry!)

The blown save was the 25th for the Giants, ten more than they had all of last season.

I truly do not expect this team to last that long. There has just been zero heart shown for 2 months now. And it certainly sounded like Boch was pretty much defeated after the game. Never heard him like before.

So doing the rudimentary math, we can expect about 4 more. :lm:

This has to be bad for Bochy's health. If the Giants don't make the playoffs, hopefully it won't drag out to the final weekend and be over sooner than later.

This is a very legit concern. Boch has a history of heart issues. This type of season may make him decide to retire. If the window is closed, why would he WANT to stick around?

You just put into words what I think many have been feeling after every 0-10 risp, or pitching implosion, or Blsv.

The dogs had a deeper team this year, especially the minors.

And that has played out in their past four games where they ran out a rookie starting pitcher and won all 4.
