Alright, I'm out for a bit. Stokes, cheer your heart out. Cal, rally the troops.

Why don't the Giants use the pitch box in their broadcasts? That is becoming rather standard fare nowadays. ESPN actually has a 3D PitchFX they use. Really cool shit.

Bum still has not given up a BH to the opposing pitcher all year. That's impressive.

And Fairchild calls a pitch CLEARLY out of the zone against Bum.

God, I hate umpires.

Not according to fangraphs. No ball outside the zone called a strike. He has called five pitches in the zone a ball though (3 in favor of giant hitters).

According to MLB at-bat, it was outside the zone.

I was reviewing the top ROY candidates on MLB.com, and I noticed something...

They include Seager, and all 10 of his ABs, but they do not include Tomlinson. By the numbers (SSS, I know) he is having a better year than Duffy, but he is not included? Makes no sense.

And BTW, Bryant has pulled ahead of the rookie class again, and it isn't that close right now. I am not sure Duffy is a top 3 RIGHT NOW.

If you hit a milestone HR in Colorado, does it really count?

I've never found that to be accurate. Fangraphs is pretty good. After the game, we can pull Brooks to see
None of these 2-D graphs are accurate, though. The zone has a volume, not an area.

I trust Brooks' numbers over all others, though.

That's correct; but Fangraphs is far superior to the mlb app, IMO.

Fair enough. But the fangraphs UI sucks. The ball/Strike widget does not allow for any filters outside of "called ball" and "called strike". It hard to get a real feel when you have to look at the entire game with no idea which was the first or last pitch thrown.

Big hit, right there.

Looks like Duff is coming out of his little slump.

And if what he had is his version of a slump, lots of guys in this game will take his slump as their average streak any day of the week.
