Bottom of 1st.

Let today's scoreboard watching begin!!

If you have MLB Network, they're broadcasting the game.

Headley's having a monster season. A couple of seasons ago, he was doin' awful. Just goes to show that you have to stick with your young guys and let them iron things out.

The Giants have been in quite a few American League-type games lately 'eh? We usually don't win the slugfests...

Hopefully we can take the game tomorrow by a final score of 4-1 or something.

I'd be down for a Giants pitching shutout performance tomorrow night (gotta be specific).

Wasn't there talk earlier in the season of the Giants making a play for Headley?

There was talk of the Dodgers trying to get him, but I don't remember any rumors linking him to the Giants.

Nine runs on a day when Pagan went hitless in six AB.

KNBR's Marty Lurie making a big deal about Posey going in behind the plate in the top of the tenth. As if it was an example of Bochy in "playoff mode". But the move was simply the result of Bochy using the double switch, as he always does, and taking Hector out because he made the last out in the 9th, and then inserting the new pitcher in his slot in the order.

I thought that was a very good move, considering too the ones I disagreed with during the game (bringing in Penny/Loux/Mota in a still close game...). Seemed like Boch wanted to stretch Romo if the game went on (another reason I didn't like bringing in Penny/Loux/Mota, Boch used ALL his stretch guys in the early innings) and Posey/Pill is better on D than Sanchez/Posey.

BTW, Dodgers won on an 0-2, 2 OUT changeup down the middle (all pitches in AB were changeups)

Good move? I thought it was a pretty standard move. The kind of move you make in any month of the season. if you're carrying three catchers.

Wouldn't a standard move be a good move? Or else why do it at all?

Anyone know our record since Melkygate? It doesn't hurt to have 6 games vs the worst teams in the NL but still, it's really good.

It's called offense, folks. I know we've forgotten what that looks like, but we're getting re-acquainted with it. LOL.

We're definitely a more balanced team than in 2010, with a little worse pitching (especially the bullpen) and a notably better offense. Will being more balanced help or hinder vs total pitching domination?

We'll see if we make the playoffs. And even then we won't know for sure, because playoff results are almost random (SSS).
