Logical conclusion when he says "I look at OPS+ first" to determine Pedroia was better than Rollins...Because outside of that and .BA, Rollins was significantly better in most every other category
In response to looking at "offensive numbers" not in determining MVP.

Well we can use adjusted stats, and you also only posted the NL. And was 2008 really the steroid era? Testing had begun and the HR rate was the lowest it had been since 1993.

Id expect the NL numbers to be more comparable to Dusty, I always view that as a pitchers league in comparison to the AL, especially the AL East

True, but when compared to Rollins, Rollins was actually better on the basepaths, and also a GG winner that season

Which would be reflected in OPS+ though.

Agreed and I said the work on the basepaths makes it very close. I would tend to give the edge to Rollins.

And Pedroia won a Gold Glove that year too.

L'il Pusty, Terry Pendleton, Jeter, Willie McGee, and Dick Groat all in the same room. Guess which one isn't an MVP.

GG = popularity contest. Raffy won one in a year in which he only played 21 games in the field.

Robbie Cano will never win an MVP, very likely goes down as the greatest 2nd basemen to ever play the game

I 100% agree. I mentioned Pedroia's GG in response to Dirt saying Rollins won one.

You ironically say this in response to a post saying that Pedroia is overrated. Yikes.

Fantastic, you only had to go back to 1915

So maybe 2nd best, dont know how it drastically changes the MVP argument
