Kinda bashful right now. I will start real training, I think, on Sunday. She seems have a real solid base already, so I will moreso have to learn what she already knows and work off that.
I am well aware.Congratulations on the new canine. May you enjoy many happy years together!
Dog training classes are not really for the dogs, just saying.
I am well aware.
I want to figure out how to get her interested in toys. She doesn’t seem interested in toys OR treats... she does get irritated if I have a free hand that isn’t doing it’s God-given duty, though...
She. Has already latched onto me pretty fierce. She won’t leave my side any time I go anywhere in the house. Our experience is that some dogs need to be comfortable with you before they are interested in toys. Hope the adjustment goes well. German Shepherds are really intelligent and loyal, and pretty territorial.

I am a bit worried about leaving her alone. She doesn’t seem to be destructive, but she does scratch at doors. I will be leaving her alone for a few hours tonight as a sort of test. Monday will be stressfulll for her.It will be like that for a while. Good bonding.

She is fully house trained, but apparently not crate trained. I have a crate for her, but she has zero interest in it. The fact she just had her surgery yesterday makes it tough to entice her since she has little/no interest in treats. Is she kennel trained? Will you leave her outside? In a room? In a garage? Our current dog was crate trained ( we got him at 8 months) so that is his safe place.
