Yeah, we're all kind of done, but I kind of like sharing it with other fans...

We are still the dynasty, next year is an even year.

They're all gloating on the NLWest thread here, but those guys still are hoping to win a ring and they aren't getting one this year The Mets are gonna fuck the Dodgers up.

I hear ya, cal. This is the most down I've been on the team all season. Crawford being out again just feels like the final straw.
Added to the bad news about Pence (nothing new today, I am referring to the news a few days back)

Injuries have just been absolutely brutal. Every team has them. It isn't an excuse. The team that wins likely was able to avoid injuries. It just is the fact of the situation.

If we score 1 run today I'll be kind of surprised, this emotionally spent, this lineup, vs Kershaw

Except the Cardinals. They seem to have no end to their depth.

So everyone is assuming we sign Leake for sure, and then need to also get one of the big time names. But what if they say ok we'll get 1 ace but then save money by not signing Leake?

So something like Bum/FA ace (Cueto/Price/ZImmerman)/Peavy/Heston/Cain....does that get us to the playoffs?

I brought this up a couple weeks ago, but it didn't go anywhere (too soon)...

Who are you rooting for, assuming the Playoff pitcher stays as it is now?

Personally, I am pulling for the Cards or Cubs. The Cards and Giants have owned the NL the last 5/6 years. I would kinda like that to continue. The Cards do it "the right way", too, so I gotta respect that. The Cubs would just be cool to see.

ABD is obviously the REAL answer, so that is pointless to say.

Depends on how well the big name ace performs. Can Bumgarner/FA ace outperform Kershaw/Greinke (assuming Greinke is back with LA)?

But they have the pitching depth.

Their overall pitching this year is simply amazing. Their TEAM line is a near all-star-level pitcher.

All true about the Cards but last thing we need is another team claiming they are the NL dynasty (2006/2011/2015).

Hate the Cubs from my childhood.

NL rooting for the Mets, nice story there. AL Toronto all the way.

Greinke is a lock to stay in LA. I'm assuming the ace stays ace-like. Do the other 3 get it done?

And they do that regularly drafting lower. When was the last time they finished under .500?

I would MUCH prefer ONLY Leake to ONLY Price/Greinke/Zim/whatever. He is younger, cheaper and already in the fold.

I picked Toronto to win the whole thing pre-season.

Yeah I'd go for the Mets. Never really had a problem with them, and they remind me so much of the 2010 Giants. Pirates would be really cool too. Love that outfield.

I tend to root for the teams that haven't won it the longest (or at all). I wouldn't mind a Cubs-Astros World Series if the Giants do get eliminated.

I don't see how we DON'T sign Leake. He's been everything the Giants need. I like him better than most of the"Aces" out there when you take in age and potential cost.

I'd rather sign Leake and take a flier on somebody like Fister than sign a huge deal with an Ace.

IF the Giants don't battle back (I'm not ready to give up the ghost yet), I'll be a Pirates fan. Really like McCutchen.
