That being said, the rule is still way too inconsistent, that hit wasn’t as bad as I have seen but I’ve seen it called for a lot less. I understand, it wasn't just blatant and over the top, so as a fan of the team being penalized, I can see why he felt it was bs, I don't totally agree, but it was a little iffy. One of those calls that could maybe have been missed by the refs, but it was a legit call. But just barely. I mean, I was frustrated that the OSU defender almost tackling the Gopher to prevent him getting that TD catch only garnered the Gophers 15 yards, so that roughing the passer penalty, to me, seemed like some karma.

Most here disagreed with you about that call. They may not agree with the rule but most felt that one got called right. I admitted it was iffy, but my point is if they are going to call iffy shit like that to protect the QBs, then they need to be consistent and apply such rules to other players as well, especially WRs who often collide full speed out in the open field.
