I have been perturbed by a great many things this season. One is my perception (which probably is not backed up by stats) is that Pence hits best when it doesn't matter. When the team is already up by a bunch of runs, or too far out of the game, that's when he drives in runs. My perception is that while he works hard, his stats are "soft". Gonna have to spend some time checking this out.

Sure enjoying this tear he is on, though. He may get to 30 homers the way he is swinging!

One of my friends was at yesterday's game (he is a Dodger fan, born and raised in Pasadena.) When I talked to him after the game, we were recalling other nightmare games. We both remembered being at the game at Chavez Ravine when Fernando Tatis of the Cardinals hit two grand slams, in the same inning! And as I recall, he hit them both off Chan Ho Park. I enjoyed it, but my friend did not, clearly.

I go to Mammoth and have a fun weekend 4-wheeling and hiking, and my boys SPANK the Hated Ones.

Only bad thing is that now our pick is not protected. We will have to tank the rest of the way to get back into the top 10.
