Apparently Kruk was letting ‘em fly during the FB broadcast. If anyone has video of that, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post...

What do you mean?

Do you think he figured our archaic front office doesn't have access to Facebook to hear what he says?

That's what should happen to the stale, tired FO.

In many ways, their hands are tied.

They have signed some good players to large contracts, and those players have either gotten hurt (Posey, Cueto, MM, Scrabble) or severely underperformed (Cutch, Longo) or both.

Injuries have messed up this season quite a bit, starting with Mac who was on his way to a solid season.

The pitching has been borderline spectacular, no matter what tzill says. And there have been some great "finds" like Moronta, Duggar, Hanson, Slater. Good to see WSmith back, and Watson has been great (until lately).

Our problem is the Giants' philosophy, which is out of date. The players and the coaches and the front office have no idea that they are rapidly falling behind the rest of baseball.

And their complete inability to develop young players. I am hopeful for some of the younger players in the system, but there seems little development, and the minor league teams all have losing cultures. Not many years ago, San Jose was a top team in the Cal League, and that boded well for AA and AAA. All the teams about Augusta were 20+ games under .500. That has to change.

It is easy to grouse during a losing streak like this, but there is no light at the end of the tunnel on this one. These things have been discussed ad nauseum on this board since the middle of 2016 or earlier. You gotta think these conversations are going on in the front office. If not, fire them all and begin again.

I don't think Noggin is going anywhere next season, but he is the wrong guy to develop the younger players. He will get his milestone wins, and then have a great sendoff in a year. Then the coaching staff must get younger with ideas from this century, not the last one.

But he's really a crappy pitcher masquerading as a decent pitcher. - one of tzill's alts
I should have added that in addition to his good line numbers today, it was against a 1st place team that is still battling (technically) for a playoff spot.

He joined the guys during the wrap and he said the announcers are allowed to cuss on the FB feed, and he took full advantage.

I only caught the 1st couple of innings and last couple of innings. I didn't hear anything like that in the time I watched.

Interesting. I more-or-less watched the whole thing, but I wasn't paying attention every second. The 'worst' I heard was Jason Marquis say "hell" as opposed to "heck" or whatever. But nothing else really stuck out to me

Three teams still have a chance, mathematically, to overtake the Orioles for the number 1 pick. However, only one has a realistic chance but KC would have to go SF the rest of the month. Meanwhile, the Giants pulled into a tie with Minnesota for the 11th spot but the Twins do have two more games than the Giants the rest of the month.

Baltimore 41-104 - (17 games left) (1-4)
Kansas City 49-96 8 (17) (1-10)
White Sox 57-89 15.5 (16) (1-14)
Miami 57-87 16.5 (18) (1-16)
San Diego 59-88 17 (15) (2-14)
Detroit 59-87 17.5 (16) (2-14)
Texas 62-84 20.5 (16) (2-20)
Cincinnati 63-84 21 (15) (2-17)
Toronto 65-80 24 (17) (2-23)
Mets 66-78 25.5 (18) (2-25)
Minnesota 67-78 26 (17) (2-26)
Giants 68-79 26 (15) (3-24)
Pittsburgh 72-73 31 (17) (3-26)
Anaheim 73-73 31.5 (16) (4-27)
Washington 74-72 32.5 (16) (4-28)

The Giants will hold the tie-breaker with any team except the Tigers, so at least they have that going for them

@Stokes1931

If you are going to edit his post, you might as well fix the order as well. We have a half game “lead” over the Mutts now after they swept the DH today.

Good catch cal. I'll have to make sure I move them up when I update again today. Unless, of course, the miraculous takes place and the Giants actually win a game.
