Thanks for this Cali. I work from homes in the morning and this morning I looked at the clock a little after 9. I immediately thought of that day, that is the time when I turned on the tv and was watching when the second plan hit.
On a positive note did any one of us believe that day that 13 years later we would not have seen another attack on our soil? Not to get too political but we do owe our intelligence agencies a tip of the hat. And I'm a liberal!
I, for one, will never forget where I was when 9/11 occurred. It's etched into my memory. And so is the aftermath of that tragic day for every American. We were all changed forever by watching that day unfold.
I have talked about this with every passenger in the front seat of the helicopter today. I asked each of them where the were 13 years ago. It is very sobering. It is the only day in my life, other than the birth of my son and my wedding, where I know exactly where I was.
I was in California, driving to flight school when I heard the first plane hit the twin towers. I thought to myself that can't be an accident because nobody sucks that bad at flying. Then the second one hit and I knew we were under attack.
I say "kill'em all."
I will say this about that day though. It brought us closer as a country than any day in my lifetime. I miss that because today is the most torn apart the country has been in my lifetime.
History says this about the US. If you attack our homeland, it unites us.
I was in the process of building a home [to sell],...it was on a Tuesday morning and I was watching them backfill the foundation and preparing it to be framed that week, ....I jumped in my truck and put on howard stern [on free-radio!], and thought it was all a weird prank,....then after a few minutes listening = it was fkkn REAL,.......I just went home and watched everything on tv for the rest of that day and night and was shocked/sad/mad like everyone else.
