Okay I guess we can tweak it, Milk still made a rule but if the winner of the play in game doesn't advance to the Championship then the loser of the play in game doesn't play in the 3rd place game.

I was disliking this more after every typed word!

the rule is still good... there would just be an understanding that if the 2 teams already faced each other the winner should still win...
