Anytime someone says “If at the beginning of the season, we would have have taken…”, you know we CURRENTLY sit better than that situation, but the speaker is expecting some kind of nose-dive / collapse.

Correct. Im enjoying this, like some have said all season, “house money”. If we stay in first place, fuck yeah, if we sneak into the playoffs, fuck yeah. If we’re out of the playoffs, I’ll be disappointed, but understand. Again, maybe this is because of 2010-2014, but this is all gravy to me.

In the regular season vs 4th and 5th starters and weaker teams, this lineup should be able to cover for the starters when they do poorly (like today). It's the playoffs where pitching is magnified, and hitting is subdued, and that's where we're gonna need a ton of luck.

In the regular season vs 4th and 5th starters and weaker teams, this lineup should be able to cover for the starters when they do poorly (like today). It's the playoffs where pitching is magnified, and hitting is subdued, and that's where we're gonna need a ton of luck.

sure, but during the season, you rarely match up ace v ace, #3 v #3 etc. It's not their 4/5 SP that concern me, it's ours. Assuming Disco is OK and Gas is right again, we have 3 legit SP with Webb. Wood and Shimmy are messes, and I don't see anybody in AAA that can fill in and give us solid innings.

Wood and Shimmy are not messes they are 4 and 5 starters. My point is the bats can keep us in first, but th playoffs we may have a problem

He should be fine, though. Webb is young, so you never know when he will hit the wall, but he is nailz right now. Wood and Shimmy are simply inconsistent. If you link the two in the playoffs, that might be effective.
