He took a banana route to the ball, but the decision to dive was OK. As Kruk said, 2-run lead, 2 outs, close to the wall. Good time for a risk.

That's why I asked. I thought the dive was risky but it didn't seem like he could have gotten in front of it. The risk only gave him one more base and, fortunately, Stratton got the next guy.

Corbin has also gotten some help from the umpire on a few pitches. Seems this ump likes a slightly generous zone. Stratton has gotten a couple too.

I think he could have kept it to a single if he played it safe. I think that was the reason for the banana route, he was initially playing it safe. Then he decided to go for it.

The dive, imho, was a 2-base “error”.

The ump has been horribly inconsistent. Squeezing, forgiving, splitting calls to the exact spot...
