I must admit I’m disappointed in Melvin. I doubt FZ is calling any of these decisions, it is our new manager not doing a very good job.

I’m gonna be watching Chapman and Ramos to see if either can reach 30. 30 games remaining.
10 home runs in 30 games ain't happening for either but 25+ each is in play

Chapman is on pace for 25 HR, which feels about right.

Ramos, given the same number of PAs as Chappy, projects to 34 HR

Fitz, given those PAs projects to 41 HR.

Ramos I could see being a 30+ HR guy with a full season. Fitz is coming back down to Earth a bit, I don't see him as a 40 HR guy. Probably more like 25-30.

I like Fitzgerald but I expect closer to a 15 to 20 home run season from him in 2025. I think he's good. Not sure he'll be 30 home runs good.

Yeah too soon to say. But 40 isn't gonna happen

He’s still hitting at the highest level, so I think anything can happen. His power has dropped off, but he’s still getting solid hits and hits with his speed. If you can get a 20-30HR SS/2B/OF utility guy that can also steal bases, that’s an all star. Even if he caps at 25, I’d love that progression.

Matos (even though I love his tools and love the player), had already way come back down to earth to be demoted. Fitz is still hitting over .300 when the league is hitting like .240. I may be dreaming too, but I really think we have something here with him and Ramos.

I think tzill was just projecting and dreaming. I've been there many times.
We all have. That's the core element of a fan. So happens that every one here is a fan. Some of us just dream bigger .........

Fitz is special. He represents something that is a little more than we all expected. It's a great feeling when a player out performs your expectations. Sort of like winning some rather substantial money on a scratch off lottery ticket.

I felt the same way about Doval so we have to see what happens still. Pretty SSS with Fitzgerald

I still feel that way about Camilo. Gotta figure he'll straighten up and fly right.
I agree and the stuff I'm reading in the Athletic about him lately is encouraging. I still think he can be the guy.

Just saying, gotta be careful not to project too much too soon with guys

Oh, for sure. Even Heliot.

But it seems the "bones" are there for a good hitting core. Fitz/Chap/Heliot/Lee/Bailey is legit. Need one or two more guys to break through.

Could be Tyro getting healthy
Could be LWJ staying healthy
Could be Yaz
Could be Matos
Could be Luci

I don't see any of those 5 being that. Lee also will be a nice hitter but probably not an allstar. I think Matos and Luciano are perilously close to bust territory and I'd rather trade them for someone proven like Luis Robert.

Yaz, LWJ and Tyro are who they are and nice pieces but they aren't future all stars. Ramos, Chapman and Fitz are the best hitters we got and we need one more at their level at least. If they can be a team with 6-7 good to very good hitters that can be enough with elite pitching.

Generally agree, but I'd say 4 really good hitters and 4 competent hitters with elite pitching will get it done.

Estrada, maybe.
LWJ, no way. Dude is glass.
Yaz is who he is.
Matos and Lucky are possible.
