I like to be aware when I make a fool of myself, thank you very much.
Watch me whip, now watch me nae nae.

No idea what that means, it just felt right.....given the context and all.....

Was about to post a Stokes substitute post about RISP. I think I'll wait a couple more batters.

If Stokes were here today, he'd remind us that the team was 3 for 11 with RISP. Too bad the Cubs were 11 for 6 with RISP.

Craw left the game with side and back tightness?

Seriously?

This is almost worse than the '13 rash of injuries. Unbelievable.

Check that. This is worse.

Only Aoki, Posey and Belt remain from the intended opening day lineup. Only McGehee is gone from a non-injury.

and Aoki has been in and out of the line-up on what feels like a regular cycle .... Posey seems to have hit the 'wall' and Belt ... is still standing .... 1 out of 8 regulars .... still happy to look back on our 3-5 WS titles. Makes all of this somewhat tolerable. It's not over till the fat lady sings ... but they have started to talk about her concert tour .... I just want the 7 remaining games with the Doggies .... to mean something .... actually .... mean everything!

I didn't catch that. The only thing I heard the broadcasters talking about was how Perez played 2nd base in Augusta in 2009 and how he needs to be willing to play any position to stay in the big leagues. I just thought Bochy figured that it was a throw away game and would see what he had with Perez. Dang!

Regarding Crawford, I saw that at-bat against Arrieta in the 6th. He was really battling, fouling off a bunch of pitches before swinging through strike three. He was obviously miffed about missing the pitch, throwing down his bat and helmet. The guy was swinging hard at pitches. It looked like he really wanted home run number 20. Wonder if he tweaked his side and back on the last swing or on the mini-tantrum.

That was my feeling as well. I thought it was a good idea to pull Craw and play JCP at 2B. He played there regularly for a year or two, so it was not completely unheard of.

Then, to wake up this morning to this news...

Just spitballing here...

Maybe the injury really is super-minor, and Boch pulled him from the meaningless game to get his head right. Then, after the game, an "injury" was used as the excuse to save Craw face from getting "punished".

Most likely not, but it is in the world of possibility.

Bochy hopes that Crawford is ready for tonight so it is probably not a big injury. Crawford didn't seem injured (at least physically) after that at-bat. In my opinion, it certainly seems like Crawford is scuffling, I would guess because he's close to 20 home runs and has hit quite a few in the past week that were just shy.

Question: Was the ump's strike zone all over the damned place for both teams in this game?
