I don't how you enjoy baseball
I enjoy good baseball, not shitshows.
Yesterday, for instance. Great game. We lost, but the game was highly enjoyable.

Watching a guy who should be long relief at best struggling to find anything resembling control and failing miserably isn't "baseball," it's a doomed mismatch where my team has zero chance.

How you can enjoy that is beyond me.

I am not even sure why the Giants even sent up a batter. Might as well just forfeit now.

It would save them the bullpen and the chance of injury. Unfortunately, the league wouldn't allow it and there'd be hell to pay. Thus, we are forced to play out the losing string.

So turn the game off and do something else.

The Giants are decimated by injuries right now, and you only have the temperament for perfect ball. That ain't gunna happen.

I didn't enjoy that inning, no Giants fan did obviously. It's the proclamation that this game is over.

Last night wasn't perfect. Lots of room to improve. I don't need perfection, I need competent, non shitshowy SP. This is #weaklink.

Didn't mean to post mis-clicked. To continue my thought:

Part of the game is the unknown, that each team has a chance. You see something new every game. If you declare a game over in the first inning of a game, I don't understand how you can enjoy the sport.

But an inning like that is a strong indication that we have little to no chance to win tonight.

How you can see past that, I don't know. Are you truly going to invest more time in tonights game?

Bases loaded means nothing.

Yes, because if the Giants hit a home run here, they are ahead.

Even had that happened (and I assume it did not as there are crickets here), what are the chances that Vogey will get it together and shut down the Pirates?

Then please leave.

I may just do that and check back in to see you all making fun of my bad call in a couple hours.

Or, more likely, a few scattered posts about the shitshow.

I'm not making predictions about the game, I'm just (poorly) pointing out that I don't know how you can enjoy baseball when you are so quick to rule a game over, given how much can happen over the course of an inning, let alone 8. It's not like Vogey gave up 10 runs.

Love Duffy's approach. B

Liriano falls off the mound awkwardly with his follow through.

It depends upon the team and the pitcher. Tonight, you KNOW that 3 runs is pretty insurmountable by a team with Pence and Panik out, and Posey sucking. Further, you also KNOW the odds of Vogey being solid the rest of the way are slim. So, not only would the Giants need to score 4 tonight (unlikley), they'd need to shut the Pirates out the rest of the way (very unlikely). Add it together, and you've got basically a game that's over.

Even Fangraphs has us at a <10% chance to win. How you enjoy futilely watching for that 1 in 10 shot is beyond me. Life is waaaaaay too short for bad baseball.

You missed a great October last year.

And in 2012.
