Dilluted talent.

Starters not going deep into the game.
It seems, now, that the Giants should shipped out Smith and Watson last month. The trades revealed the depth wasn't as deep as we thought. Of course, hindsight is 20/20.
I wonder if Watson will exercise his option for 2020. I doubt he wants to go back on the open market after what will be the worst season of his career. That may play into the team's favor, if he can bounce back in 2020.

Damn, Kuip and the camera person really had me fooled. I thought that was an EWS for sure

At this point, I think that's all we can ask for. I've having much more fun watching this team right now than most points since the end of 2016.
It would be nice if these knuckleheads could at least send Bochy off into the sunset ranked in the top 10 all-time for managerial wins, since they most likely won't get him into the playoffs one last time and probably already lost a chance at the top 10 in the 2020 draft.

at least it was entertaining

Early in the season, being down 6-2, the hitters would have curled up in the fetal position and cried for their mamas.

Now, the hitters are hitting (mostly), and it is the pitching that is letting the team down. Starters can't go more than 4-5 (aside from Bum and Scrabble), and the bully looks gassed. I really like Moronta, but he is not ready mentally to be a closer nor an 8th inning guy.

This game, while a disappointing loss (two blown saves) WAS quite entertaining.

They'll need 20 more wins to give him sole possession of 10th place. They have 35 games left. Gonna be real close.
