Yanks play Detroit and Seattle this week.

They should really go 4-2 this week.

Judge should be moved to 5th or 6th in the batting order at this point especially with the way Gary is swinging the bat

and I wonder if he will ever get "deeked" out like Mookie did to him on 2nd base

Yeah that was bad. For his sake thankfully it did not lead to a run

I thought for sure it would have but you are right for his sake it worked out.

I will say this.... Judge is good to the fans... I was at the game Saturday and every time they were done throwing the ball around during innings he would toss the ball into the stands

speaking of howard, i had no clue the braves released him and he went to CO.

hes hitting .188 in the minors. the shift absolutely killed his career.

w/o shift with shift
Batting average .424 .282
Average SLG .553 . 361
Average wRC+ 162 71
Runs above average +17.1 -52.4

Ryan Howard with and without the shift, 2010-16

Runs above average totals all the runs a player’s hitting generated relative to an average player who had the same number of plate appearances. Shift data is tracked only on balls in play.

hes their next ryan howard

What's pretty encouraging about Hoskins is that for a power hitter he hasn't been striking out very much this year. His K% in AAA was 15.8%. So far in the majors, it's only 14.9% (granted it's only 11 games). But he's also walking a lot (13.5% in AAA, 17% in MLB).

Also, Fangraphs' KATOH system loves him. Gives him a good chance of producing at least 16 WAR (Ryan Howard had 19.4 career WAR). There's some pretty exciting comps (Carlos Pena, Votto, Helton, Hafner, Nick Johnson (who was a damn good hitter, but just couldn't stay healthy)).
